Dear Mr. Sumner:
This letter is in response to a request from Mr. Hugh Bryant of your staff for statistics on
- allegations received by the NRC concerning Hatch. The attached tables provide a comparison to allegations received at other operating sites for calendar years 1993,1994,1995,1996,1997 and the first seven months of 1998. You may notice changes from statistics previously reported.
The software used to count allegations has been revised to avoid " double counting' allegations that are transferred imm one NRC organization to another. Additionally, the data is audited for accuracy and corrections are made as appropriate.
If either you or Mr. Bryant have any questions concoming the data, you can reach me at (301) 415-8529.
Sincerely, MMk Edward T. Baker, lil Agency Allegation Advisor -
