Dear Mr. Cotter:

I am in favor of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant increasing their storage of spent nuclear fuel. Thei r proposal to replace the originally installed racks with replacement racks will give the spent fuel. pools a storage capacity that will be adequate for about 19 years, witnout enlarging the pools. This will allow the plant to operate until cuch time. the United Statos Department of Energy has a repository in operation (15 - 20 years) in accordance with the Nuclear Waste Policy Att signed by President Reagan in 1983.

There is no safe, economic or other viable alternative.

Diablo Canyon is an outstanding value to PGandE customers.

California needs this clean source of energy, now and in the future.

Sincerely,

(
