Dear Sir:

Please allow PGandE to reconfigure the spent fuel storage racks in the spent fuel storage pool so they may store the spent fuel from Diablo Canyon Power Plant until the U.S. Department of Energy provides a permanent repository.

I understand the D.0.E. is required by the nuclear waste policy act of 1983 to provide a permanent repository in the next 15 to 20 years.

The additional fuel storage will not significantly increase the level of radioactivity in the spent fuel pool.

The additional fuel storage will allow PGandE to continue operation of this much needed and very reliable plant.
