I am i n f avor or the proposed reracking in the spent fuel pits at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant and request that you rule in favor of this proposal.
My parents and I attended the hearings at the San Luis Bay Inn on 6/15/87.
I considered expressing my views publically but decided against it after inquiring about the length of the list and the possibility of speaking.
I arived at about 5 oOPM and I was told that there were approximately two pages of names ahead of ms.
I WD observed the proceedings for about a 1/2 an hour.
At this point I felt a little intimidated by the negative position of the crowd.
I also felt some of the comments to the commi ssion (i e., reference to PG&E as a. murder) were uncalled for.
As a resident of San Luis Obispo County, California, I and my family accept the risks associated with the reracking proposal because we believe those risks to be sufficiently low when compared to other events that could significantly I
impact our lives in the future.
We also belive the benefits of continued opsration of the plant outwei gh other alternatives-that would combine to reduce the overall strength and competi ti ve position of this nation.
