This is in response to your letters dated August 4,1987, concerning package registration for and on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy. According to our records DOE -is a registered user of Certificate of Compliance No. 5971.
Section 71.12 of 10 CFR Part 71 requires as a condition of general license provisions an approved quality assurance (QA) program based upon the criteria of Subpart H of 10 CFR Part 71. Accordingly, we are unable to register you for the use of Certificate of Compliance No. 9080 at this time.
It will be necessary for you to obtain a valid QA program prior to registration or the Department of Energy can request to be registered as a user of the package.
