Extension Request - NRC Compliance Bulletin 87-02
Dear Mr. Davis:
On November 16, 1987 Toledo Edison receivad the NRC compliance Bulletin 87-02, Fastener Testing To Determine Conformance With Applicable Material Specifications, dated November 6, 1987 (Log 1-1699).
The Bulletin requested licensees to provide a response within-60 days of receipt of the Bulletin. Toledo Edison received the Bulletin on November 16, 1987, therefore th'e response was scheduled to be submitted by January 15,-1988.
However, the Bulletin required the sample of'non-safety related.
and safety related fasteners and nuts to be selected by the licensee with the participation of an NRC inspector. The NRC resident. inspector received guidance on the sample selection criteria on approximately December 2, 1987. This resulted in the sample s' election taking place approximately 3 weeks after" receipt of the Bulletin. Based on this, Toledo Edison will provide the response by February 15, 1988.
