MEMORANDUM AND ORDER I

(Ruling on Motion for Continuance of Hearing)

On August 4,1987-the Seacoast Anti-Pollution League, the New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution, the Town of Amesbury and the Town of_Hampton (Interveners) moved to postpone the hearings on the New Hampshire Radiological Response Plan (NHRERP) until integrated he6 rings can be held on both the NHRERP and the Applicants' utility plan for the Massachusetts portion of the Seabrook EPZ.

The Applicants and the NRC Staff (Staff) each filed responses 1

opposing the granting of this motion.

The issues involving off-site implementation of the NHRERP are ripe for litigation. They represent discrete matters not seen to be interactive with or dependent upon the content of the Applicants' proposed utility plan for an adjoining state.

Said adjoining state plan 9

2 is not before us; the issuance and testing of such a plan lie in the future. Accordingly, the Board finds no merit to Interveners' motion.

Interveners' motion for continuance of the presently scheduled hearings is denied.

IT IS SO ORDERED.
