l Purpose of Meeting: The purpose of this meeting was to provide EPRI staff an opportunity to discuss their concept of an EDG preventive maintenance reliability program with the NRC staff.
This concept had been presented previously to NUMARC.

Harvey Wyckoff and John Gaertner (EPRI staff) provided the staff with their views on a reliability-centered maintenance program for EDGs (see Enclosures (1) and (2).
As noted in Enclosure (1), NUMARC has an interest in working with the NRC staff in the resolution of Safety Issue B-56, similar to the NUMARC I
initiatives for resolving USI A-44, Station Blackout.

Time did not permit a great deal of exchange of views; however, the staff did note that the presentation material did not address how achievement of desired (or r.eeded) reliability levels was to be verified or monitored.
It is likely that follow-up meetings will occur.
