SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SQN) - UNIT 2 REGENERATION OF PIPE SUPPORT CALCULATIONS ON RICOROUS ANALYSIS PIPING TVA and NRC have met twice to discuss SQN unit 2 Regeneration of Pipe Support Calculations on Rigorous Analysis Piping--once in Bethesda on June 19, 1987, to introduce and overview the progran, and again in Knoxville on July 23, 1987, with John Fair and Bob Hermann of your staff, to discuss the program in greater technical detail. Pursuant to these discussions, we are enclosing a general overview of TVA's program plan in acccedance with NRC request.

1 The scope of this effort involves approximately 6,000 pipe supports on the rigorous analysis category 1 piping.

The review and regeneration effort will meet the requirements of American National Standards Institute B31.1 Code, 1967 edition, and accordingly will comply with SQN Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR), sections 3.2 and 3.9, for normal and upset loading conditions.,

FSAR section 3.8.3 will be utilized for the evaluation of fkulted loading condition. provides a description of the overall program p1Ln including the scope of work, schedule, and an overview of design criteria for this effort.
