JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLAh"f 4
UNIT 1 1
NARRATIVE SUM ARY OF OPERATIONS May, 1987 i
l There was one unit shutdown during the month of May. On 5-14-87'at 1046, the reactor tripped due to steam flow greater than feedwater flow coincident with low steam generator level. The 1H 4160 volt bus was inadvertently deenergized by the operator. This led to the deenergization l
of the load center which powers the oil pumps for the steam generator feed plups. Therefore, the steam generator feed pumps tripped. The lo s of feedwaser flow led to the reactor trip. The unit returned to power operation on 5-15-87 at 0640.
The feil.owing major safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of May.
1.
The IB service water pump was overhauled.
2.
The RHR pump room coolers were cleaned and the cooler relief valve was replaced.
3.
Three cells were replaced in the 1B auxiliary building batteries.
4.
The 1D and IE service water pumps were repaired.
5.
Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was performed on the diesel generators.
