o Support Stiffness - Support RIL 13 (See Telecon 4/3/87) l The TE R A review began with a sam ple of approximately 85 % of i

the 316 steam problems. They reviewed the ISO's and selected l

24 problems for further review. TE R A then reviewed the SW E C l

PSR D calculations for the 24 problems to arrive at the five chosen for the study. The SW E C study is calcu)ation 15454 -

N E(c) - G E N X - 117. Portions of that calculation are attached (6.c heets).

o Fluid Head Analysis - Steam RIL 3 (see Telecon 4/3/87) l l

i There are no Class 1 penetrations. All Class 2 penetrations will be reconciled to ASM E III-N C 3600.

o Rear Backed Sizes - Support RIL 40 S W E C has prepared Calculation 15454 - N Z9(c) - GEN X - 187 that compares dimensions for Grinnell rear brackets to arrive at I

critical dimensions to be used in tha reconciliation.

SWEC issued P M-144 dated April 2,1987 written against C PP-7, Rev. 3 to im plem ent the changes.

Design of Seismic /Non-Seismic Interface Anchors Support RIL 28. (See Telecon 4/3/87)

~

1 S W E C is preparing C alculation 15454-N Z(c) - 195 that com pares Hilti Dolt load interaction ratios for combined moment and torque in C PPP-7 procedures.

The com parison is done for trunnion anchors and braced trunnion anchors. The lowest ratio is 0.61 (preliminary value). SW E C intends to reissue a PM that I

i l

will require for the evaluation on allinterface anchors where the interaction ratio using CPPP-7 procedures is graater than 0.60.

]

a Allowable Loads for Hilti Anchors Having Edge Distance Less l

Than SD - Support RIL 42 (see Telecon 4/3/87) l S W E C presented a calculation showing cone overlap for shear l

load between a partial cone at the concrete surface and the cone for the stress field at the tip. The calculation was performed for 3/4 and 1-1/4 inch Hilti with minimum embedment and minimum edge distances, i.e., 3 bolt dianters. Using A CI-349 cone overlap procedures, the calculate J frtion in normal allowable is 22.9% for the 3/4 inch and c O 4 /.,r the 1-1/4 inch Hilti.

In both cases, the CPPP-7 pr,iores gave allowable j

loads below those repudiated by the A CI-349 procedures. The Nelson stud paper by McMackin, Slutter and Fisher (ref. Attach l

G to TX X-6200) indicates that the 5/3 interaction equation is applicable for studs at an edge distance of 3 bolt diameters.
