BATTELLE PACIFIC NORTHWEST LABORATORIES l

By letter dated July 28, 1987, Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratories (BPNL) l requested Materials License No. SNM-942 be. terminated.

In accordance with NRC letter dated March 24, 1987, BPNL has reduced their possession limits to less than a critical mass and obtained authority for SNM possession or use under their Washington State Materials License.

I have confirmed BPNL's action with Mr. Gary Robertson, State of Washington Radiatien Health Program, on August 7, 1987.

j On August 11, 1987, I discussed the BPNL license termination with B. Brock, R. Thomas, and J. Hornor, Region V; they have no objection to the action.
