In accordance with Appendix A, Beaver Valley Technical Specification 3.3.3.1,

" Radiation Monitoring Instrumentation," the following Special Report is submitted. This report is required when the conditions specified in Technical Specification 3.3.3.1.b are not satisfied.

On 7/26/87 at 2200 hours0.0255 days <br />0.611 hours <br />0.00364 weeks <br />8.371e-4 months <br />, 2 MSS-RQ101A, B and C, main steam effluent monitor, was declared Out-Of-Service due to sample line steam leakage. This is nonconservative with respect to Technical Specification 3.3.3.1 and reportable _

per Technical Specification 3.3.3.1.b. Alternate preplanned monitoring methods were in effect until the channels were placed back in service. In addition, there was no potential for a radioactive release via this pathway as the plant  ;

had not reached initini criticality.

The sample line leakage was corrected and the channels were placed back in service on 7/31/87 at 0900 hours0.0104 days <br />0.25 hours <br />0.00149 weeks <br />3.4245e-4 months <br />.
