LILCO's Opposition to NRC Staff Motion For Two-Week Extension of Time The NRC Staff today requested a two-week extension of time, to September 11, to file its findings in this proceeding. LILCO opposes the request.

The litigation resulting from Shoreham's February 13, 1986 Exercise has now continued for eighteen months. Any additional slips in the schedule for filing find-ings will adversely affect the Board's ability to issue a prompt decision. LILCO there-l fore requests that the Board adhere to the schedule now set, which has the parties' findings, including LILCO's reply findings, completed by September 1.

But if the Board grants the NRC Staff's request LILCO asks that the sched-ule be adjusted in a corresponding fashion for LILCO's reply findings, so that they will be due on September 18, five business days following the Staff's.
