4 JOSEPH M. FARLEY NULM PIANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE SUBNARY OF OPERATIONS July, 1987 There were no unit shutdcwns or significant power reductions during the month of July. 1 The following major safety-related maintenance uns performed in the month of July:

1. Solenoid splices arul motor-operated valve splices that were installed utilizing methods not evaluated by design for environmental qualification were re-terminated in accordance with newly approved EQ terminations on a priority basis. This is still in progress.
2. Control room fire damper 2782BD had new parts installed.
3. Several tube leaks were repaired on the IC CCW heat exchanger.
4. The anchor bolts of the Number 3 service water battery were reworked.
5. Radiation detectors R-2 and R-7 were replaced.
6. Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was performed on the diesel generators.
