Dear Mr. Varga:
This letter provides the present status of the Peach Bottom diesel generator vendor manual update project which was implemented pursuant to the requirements of Generic Letter 83-28,
" Required Actions Based on Generic Implications of Salem ATWS Events".
A purchase order was issued to the diesel generator manufacturer on June 19, 1987 to update the manuals._ The update of the manuals will include an engineering review of all modifications performed on the diesel generators over their lifetime.
An expedited schedule has been established and a draft of the updated manuals is due for formal PECo review by December 11, 1987.
Resolution of any PECo comments and final approval wil; follow promptly.
The manufacturer has been forwarding and I
will continue to forward the appropriate service information letters to PECo.
