The subject contract with ENSA Inc. expired on March 31,1984. The contractor has gone out of business. There has been several attempts to find the owner of the company. These attempts were made by BPC, the previous contractor responsible for closeouts and Sharlene McCubbin, Contract Specialist. Because the company went out of business, closeout releases and certifications cannot be properly executed and placed in the file.

-This contrpet was a cost-sharing contract between U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Naval Research Laboratory. The total ceiling of this contract is $3,540,101.00 of which Naval Research Laboratory's responsibility is for $588,770.70 and NRC's responsibility is
$2,951,330.30. The amount obligated by NRC and verified with accounting records is
$2,951,326.00. The contractor has been paid $2,942,639.15 and the remaining unexpended balance of $8,686.85 is for fee owed to the contractor by NRC.

' At the expiration of this contract, ait equipment and government fumished property was transferred to the new contract with Materials Engineering Associates, NRC-04-88-072 which was closed April 1998.
Therefore, a unilateral modification (No.18) was executed on AuguM998 deobligating the remaining funds in the amount of $8,686.85, and revising the ceiling and obligated amount under the contract to reflect the amount of $2,942,639.15 paid on behalf of NRC to the i
contractor.
