rARKANSAS ' RESPONSE TO THE FINAL IMPEP REPORT
' On review of the correspondence for the 1998 Arkansas IMr?EP, I noted that the July 8,1998 letter transmitting the final report did not contain the standard language addressing whether or
. not the' State needed to respond to the recommendations listed in the report. Mr. David
- Snellings,' Director, Division of Radiation Control and Emergency Management also called Paul
- Lohaus, Deputy Director, OSP on August 4,1998 inquiring whether a response was requested.

' Upon consultation with Lloyd Bolling, OSP Team Leader, for the 1998 Arkansas IMPEP review
'and OSP management, it was the staff's intent that Arkansas did not need to respond to the July 8,1998 letter, since their response to the draft report dated May 26,1998 adequately addressed the recommendations. Paul Lohaus informed David Snellings on August 5,1998 ithat a response from the State was not requested and that a record note to that effect would be
- placed in the Arkansas IMPEP report file.
