Braidwood Station Unit 2 Deferral of Limited Aspects of the System Demonstration Test Program NRC Docket No. 50-457
Dear.Mr. Murley:
The purpose of this letter is to request a deferral of a component Demonstration Test, co-61 20046, which retests a portion of the carbon dioxide system, until after fuel loading.
l During the performance of System Demonstration Co-61.(Carbon i
Dioxide - Balance of Plant), the following zones did not meet the concentration requirements of the test, due to the discharge times being too short or the concentration not peaking quick enough:
ZONES AREA' Zone 2 EE-1 Upper Cable Spreading Room (Required Concentration Ramp-up Time is 500 at 2 minutes; Actual was 30V at 2 minutes.
Zone 2 EE-4 Upper Cable Spreading Room (Required Concentration Time is 10 minutes:-
Actual was 9 minutes, 40-seconds)
Zone 2 Z-1 Lower Cable Spreading Room (Required Concentration Time is-20 minutes!
Actual was 19 minutes) y

Component Demonstration will repeat the concentration test following these adjustments and will be completed prior to entering Mode ~4.
Compensatory actions will be taken in accordance with Braidwood Station Procedures, until' completion and approval of the Component Demonstration Test, to provide appropriate fire protection measures.
