SAFETY EVALUATION FOR NEDO-326896, REV. O, " UTILITY RESOLUTION GUIDANCE DOCUMENT FOR ECCS SUCTION STRAINER BLOCKAGE"
Dear Mr. Sgarro:
By letter dated November 20,1996, the Boiling Water Reactor Owners group (BWROG) ;
transmitted General Electric topical report NEDO-326896, Revision 0," Utility Resolution Guidance for ECCS Suction Strainer Blockage,"(URG) to the NRC staff for review. The staff completed its initial review and issued a draft safety evaluation report (SER) dated December 31,1997. The draft SER identified several areas where the staff did not agree with URG conclusions. The staff requested that the BWROG review the draft SER and provide the staff with comments on these issues. By letter dated March 13,1998 the BWROG provided the stcff with comments on the staffs draft SER. The staff has evaluated the BWROG comments and has completed its review of the URG. The staff's final safety evaluation is enclosed.
