Electronic Copy of Discussions of Chances (DOCS) and Significant Hazards Evaluations (SHEs)
Ladies and Gentlemen:
By letters dated March 12,1998 and April 24,1998, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted the Farley Nuclear Plant (FNP) - specific Improved Technical Specifications (ITS) conversion documentation packages. 'Ihese packages included the marked-up pages of both the Farley Current Technical Specifications (CTS) and the Improved Standard Technical
. Specifications (ISTS). In addition, the discussions of changes (DOCS) made to the CTS, justifications of changes to the ISTS, and the Significant Hazards Evaluations (SHEs) for the conversion, along with a clean-typed copy of the FNP-specific ITS Technical Specifications and Bases were included.
During a subsequent phone call with the NRC staff, the staff requested that an electronic copy of the DOCS and SHEs be submitted to assist the NRC with the review of the FNP submittal.
Enclosed is a CD containing the requested documents in the Wordperfect 6.1 format.
During SNC review of the submitted package for the creation of this electronic copy of the DOCS and SHEs, some changes were made to correct minor editorial errors and inconsistencies within the package (e.g., punctuation, capitalization, reference, or grammatical errors). These changes have not affected the conclusions of the associated SHEs. Therefore, the previously submitted SHEs still apply. The previously submitted pages should be replaced with the corrected DOC pages included in the attaclunent to correct minor errors in the package. The attached changes are reflected on the CD.
