RE:

Docket 50-443: ASLBP 98-746-05-LA

Dear Members of the Conunission:

The North Atlantic Energy Services Corporation (NAESCo), the operator of the Seabrook Station nuclear power plant, is currently seeking to lengthen the time permitted to elapse between steam generator in-service inspections, from 18 to 24 month. My purpose in writing is to add my name and office to the list of those calling on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to promptly conduct a thorough review of the NAESCo request,

{

including a full public hearing here, in the affected Seacoast region of New Hampshire.

\\

Whether the NAESCo request is a good idea or not remains unclear at this time, and the State of New Hampshire has made no decision about the outcome of a review process. However, the issues raised are serious and, we believe, deserving of thorough public scrutiny. The direct interests of many New Hampshire citizens are clearly involved in this proposed change. Therefore, we deem it appropriate that any NRC review of this matter inclu:le a public hearing conducted in the Seacoast Region of New Hampshire.

Thank you for your careful attention to this matter.

1 Very truly yours, j
