NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50-271/98-10
Dear Mr. Maret:
On July 18,1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your Vermont Yankee (VY) reactor
facility. In addition to the resident inspection activities, an announced inspection of the
inservice inspection (ISI) program was performed by a regional specialist. The enclosed
report presents the results of these inspections.
During the five week period covered by this inspection report, the overall conduct of
activities at VY was characterized by safe operations and maintenar,ce. A review of the
ISI program found that it was properly controlled and satisfactorily implemented during the
recent refueling outage. We note that you are continuing your efforts to improve the
timoliness of making required reports to the NRC.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practices," a copy of tJs letter
and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
