This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Mr. Lewis Ward of your staff and Mr. Pierce Skinner on August 3, 1998.-concerning a meeting which has been scheduled for September 9. 1998. from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The purpose of-this meeting.. scheduled at the request of Southern Nuclear Operating Company. Inc.

is to discuss Technical Specifications and other regulatory issues pertaining to the Vogtle facility.. The meeting agenda is enclosed.

The location of the meeting will be at the NRC Region II Office. 61 Forsyth Street, SW Atlanta, Georgia, 24th Floor Conference Room.. This. meeting is an OPEN meeting as per " Staff Meetings Open to the Public: Final Policy Statement" (September 20, 1994: 59 FR 48340).
