REGULATORY ACTIONS IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES TO DEAL WITH I SEVERE CORE DAMAGES As you requested, please find attached a draft report on regulatory actions taken in various countries to enhance LWR safety by providing mechanisns to prevent or deal with (mitigate) accidents which involve severe core damage.
This report describes specific improvements in plant design and procedures in various countries relative to plants in the U.S. The report does not attempt j to compare the overall safety of plants in the U.S. with those in various i countries.
We would like to receive from all ACRS Members any comnents, corrections or I suggested additions to the report by February 16, 1987 so that we may prepare l a final report.
