BRAIDWOOD STATION UNIT 2---

j PERFORMANCE TEST RESULTS 1

I l

ESSENTIAL SERVICE WATER PUMP The Braidwood Unit 2 essential service water pump underwent a 48 hour5.555556e-4 days
0.0133 hours
7.936508e-5 weeks
1.8264e-5 months
endurance run under normal flow conditions as part of the auxiliary feedwater system pre-operational test.

The results are as follows:

Prestart Alignment Test Acceptable Suction Pressure 75 psig l

Discharge Pressure 118 psig Differential Pressure 43 psig Flowrate 430 gpm i

Developed Head 99.2 ft.

l Ambient Room Temperature 78'F Bearing Temperature 117'F Seal Leakage None Vibration Signature Acceptable j

RPM Speed Check Acceptable i

Hydrostatic Test Acceptable The results of the performance test for the 2SX04P pump at runout flow conditions are as follows:

Suction Pressure 74 psig Discharge Pressure 65 psig Flowrate 1050 gpm Vibration Signature Acceptable Bearing Temperature ll?'F Ambient Temperature 78*F Seal Leakage None Braidwood Station has not tested the 2SXO4p pump at minimum flow conditions because fo the potential for damage to the diesel engine of the associated feedwater pump. The 2SX04P pump supplies jacket cooling water to the diesel engine. Running the pump under minimum flow conditions could result in inadequate heat removal and subsequent diesel engine overheating.

We believe the concerns expressed in the subject bulletin have been adequately addressed for the Braidwood Unit 2 essential service water pump.

No further action is required at this time.
