January 6, 1987 MEMORANDUM FOR: Victor Stello Executive Director for Operations FROM: Sharon R. Connelly, Director J Office of Inspector and Auditor -

SUBJECT:

CIA COMANCHE PEAK REPORT j i

Attached is a memorandum from Mr. Stephen Goldberg in which he advises me that the chart on pages 34 and 35 of the Comanche Peak report does not accurately characterize the analysis of technical issues he performed to deterrine whether Region IV nanagement appropriately downgraded, changed or deleted inspection findings and violations. Mr. Goldberg's complete analysis, which is included in the report, remains unchanged and there is no effect on the conclusions of the report.

SUBJECT:

CORRECTED TABLES IN THE COMAh HE PEAK INVESTIGATIVE REPORT Per our conversation, I have attached corrected copies of two tables that appear on pages 34 and 35 in the Comanche Peak Investigative Report. The underlined words in the attachment are the corrections. This was due to my changing Ton Scarbrough's analysis of my work (Attachment MM) concerning Phillips' issues. In my opinion, these corrections are minor and do not change the thrust of the report.

I was unable to review these pagec, prior to the report being finalized because I was on leave during the week of November 21, 1986, when these tables were developed and when the final review of the report took place.
