. Lnservice Insnection Renort Ladies and Gentlemen:
l Purruant to the requirements of 10 CFR 50.55a(g) and 10 CFR 50.36, Southern Nuclear Operating Company hereby submits the Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 2, Interval 2, Period 3, Outage 1 Inservice Inspection Report. This report (Enclosure 1) describes and summarizes the insersice inspection activities performed during the Unit 2 twelfth refueling outage. These activities were completed May 15,1998. Included in this report are the results of the steam generator eddy I
current testing conducted during this outage as required by 10 CFR 50.55a(g) and Section l
4.4.6.5.b of the Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 2 Technical Spaifications. A summary of these results 1
may be found in Tab B of Enclosure 1.
Other pertinent report information is available at Farley Nuclear Plant for your review. This information includes, as applicable, examination plans and schedules, examination results and reports, examination methods and procedures, evaluation results, and corrective action and repairs.
i Enclo.sure 2 contains a revision to a Unit 1 NIS-2 form (2 sheets) originally r:ubmitted by letter dated August 27,1997 as part of the Inservice Inspection Report for the Farley Unit I fourteenth refueling outage. This form should replace the one originally submitted.

A spare valve was installed in its placs due to time constraints. Three new inlet studs and nuts were also installed. Ref: M1F's 97 038051 and 97 038588.
