The Commission was briefed by representatives of Combustion Engineering, Inc. on the status and efforts to develop a standardized nuclear power station (System 80+) for design certification.

- R.E. Newman Vice President Nuclear Systems

- Dr. M.D. Green, Manager Standard Plant Licensing Combustion Engineering stated that it would address at a later date hgw it intends to achieve a severe core damage frequency of 10 with high level of confidence.

The Commission stressed its expectation that a standardized plant be designed as complete as possible with focus on optimization of maintenance and surveillance testing.
