THREE MILE ISLAND SITE - EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL General Public Utilities advised Region I on December 1, 1975 that the j Pennsylvania State Police requested to use the TMI site to conduct a l

full emergency response drill on December 9, 1975, starting at 10:00 a.m. to familiarize State Police Emergency Platoon with the problems that could be encountered at a nuclear power reactor site in the event of a riot, attack, or sabotage. It is also understood that a similar , drill, using l a different platoon, will be conducted at a later date at Peach Bottom site. = l

~_ G.P.U. Will meet with members of the. Pennsylvania State Police on December 2, 1975 to formalize plans for the drill. i

! l The Emergency Platoon consist of 35 men divided into squads. They are eqi.ipped with special weapons, communications equipment and special vehicles.

i This drill is being performed completely through the initiative of the Pennsylvania State Police as part of a training exercise for the Emergency Platoons.

The drill will be publicized by G.P.U. Media interest is expected because of continued interest in safety and security. The state of Pennsylvania has been and is being kept informed.
