UNSCHEDULED SHUTDOWN AND IDENTIFICATION OF UNISOLATABLE LEAK IN INSTRUMENT LINE l
The licensee reported that the facility was shutdown at 11:00 p.m. on i November 13, 1975, to locate the source of unidentified leakage measured l at 2.2 gpm (technical specification requirement 2.5 gpm). The source was determined to be a cracked weld in a one inch unisolatable instrument line. This line, one of five, provides the pressure indication for Lov M.
Pressure Coolant Injection detection logic. The reactor must be placed in cold shutdown for repairs.

1 Media interest is expected because of close attention being given to this facility and to plant availability considerations. The State of Connecticut has been informed. A press release is being made by the licensee.
