Thank you for your letter dated November 16,1987,(which further' described the'UST&D) j corrective action U.S. Tool and Die, Incorporated to Inspection Report No. 99901082/87-01,' dated May 12, 1987. Your response, 4
which provided additional information regarding Notice of Violation 87-01-01' i
and Items of Nonconformance 87-01-03, 87-01-06, 87-01-11, and 87-01-13, was j

adequate, and no additional information is required.
It should be noted, however, that the response to Notice of. Violation 87-01 is acceptable only if UST&D continues to perform audits at subvendors and maintains historic data records on those subvendors from whom UST&D purchases commercial grade' items. Additionally, for Item of Nonconformance 87-01-06':
please note that revising purchase ' orders to include' QA/QC requirements after '
the material has been delivered does not provide assurance that the' material was supplied under a QA/QC program.
In the ' original response to the. inspection report dated June 9, 1987, UST&D provided assurance that material was supplied under a QA/QC program by reviewing CMTRs.
Finally, UST&D's response to Item of.
, j j
Nonconformance 87-01-11 stated that re-evaluations of Do-All and Columbia l
Electric Manufacturing were to be performed by August 15. 1987.
Provided UST&D performs re-evaluations, maintains historic. data and the calibrations l
are traceable to the National Bureau' of Standards, the corrective action is adequate.
i All of the items identified during the inspection are considered closed, and the l
corrective actions will be reviewed during future NRC inspections.
