NARRATIVE SUPNARY OF~ OPERATIONS I

August, 1987

.There was one significant power reduction during the month of August.

'On 8/14/87, power was reduced to allow containment access for the inspection and repair.of motor-operated valve connections.

The unit returned to full power operation on 8/19/87.

The following major safety-related maintenance was performed in the month-of August:-

1.. Solenoid splices and motor-operated valve splices that were installed utilizing methods not evaluated by design for environmental qualification were re-terminated in accordance with newly approved EQ terminations on a priority basis.

2.

Leaking warm-up valves were repaired on the turbine-driven au *1iary feedwater pump.

3.

The cooler was cleaned and the bolts were replaced on the 2A I

charging pump.

4.

Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was performed on the diesel generators.
