AND SHOOTING INCIDENT IN GUTHRIE, OKLAHOMA This is an update of PN-75-102 dated October 7, 1975.

The FBI has evaluated the robbery incident and the'information
_a supplied them by the NRC and has determined there is no jurisdiction for conducting an investigat(ion.

Region III will conduct an appropriate inquiry this week at Kerr-McGee to review screening and hiring practices of guards in general, i
and Mr. Buford in particular.

A representative of the Office of Inspection and Auditor (OIA) plans to a'ecompany our inspector.

According to the FBI, this matter is receiving little media cover-age except for the one radio reporter who is continuing to pursue g
this incident. We plan to interview this reporter (Bob Durgin, y
Radio Station KP0K) prior to visiting Kerr-McGee.
