oxide fuel fabricated into fuel pins, containing 130.5 KGS. plutonium, leaving Philadelphia, 11-13-75 for Genoa, Italy.

Shipment to leave Cheswick, Pa, by truck, 9:00 p.m.,

11-12-75.

GAO has expressed interest in this shipment.

The ship of Italian registry will be loaded in and sail.from Philadelphia on 11-13-75. The ship's itinerary includes a stop in Brooklyn, N.

Y.,

a tM stop in Earle, N. J. on 11-17-75 to load approximately 122,000 lbs, of explosives desetih ri as varheads,'and three ports of call in Spain prior

to unloading in Genoa, Italy.

4 Details of shipment have been reviewed by Office of Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards and Office of Inspection and Enforcement. This review resulted in a determination that shipment meets NRC requirements.

The State and local authorities have not been informed. No press release is planned.

Should this shipment become known, N. Y. public officials and news media interest is possible due to NiC officials' interest in air shipments and surface movements of SNM through NYC.
