LEAK ON EXPANSION JOINT IN SERVICE WATER LINE TO "A" DIESEL GENERATOR During a rerun of the loss of offsite power test on July 28, 1975, the expansion joint in the service cooling water line to the "A" diesel gen-erator developed a leak which sprayed water into the diesel generator room. No equipment suffered water damage.
-This is the same service water line that f ailed on July 22, 1975.

The cause of the expansion joint failure is being investigated and evaluated by the licensee. Depending on the progress of the licensee's evaluation a delay of several days in the issuance of the operating license is expected.
Issuance of a license to permit fuel loading could occur this wee.k.
Media interest is not expected.
The State of Connecticut has not been informed. A press release is not planned.
OIE (Region I) received notification of th$s occurrence by telephone from R. L. Spessard, our inspecter who was at the site, at 10:00 a.m.
on 7/29/75.
