STOLEN RADI0 PHARMACEUTICALS l
Region I was informed by the State of New Jersey on August 1, that l
four packages of radiopharmaceuticals had been stolen at 7:30 p.m. on July 31, from a truck near Paramus, New Jersey. The packages contained generally licensed in vitro kits of iodine-125. Total activity was 1
140 microcuries. The packages were shipped from Abbott Labor.atories,
_ Chicago, Illinois. New York Police recovered the packages on the M
l morning of August 1.
They were returned to Abbotts' representatives in New York City where examination ' revealed no damage or losses. Dose

Media interest is expected because of interest in the recovery in New York City. The State of New Jersey and the State and City of New York have been informed. A press release is not planned, OIE received notification of this occurrence by telephone from State of n
New Jersey at noon, August 1.
