Enclosed for your information are reports which list all Nuclear Regulatory Commission export and import cases which were completed, received, or pending during the month of June 1998.
In summary, four cases were completed,10 new license applications or amendment requests were received, and 42 cases were pending as of June 30.
We understand that most of the pending cases listed in the report are awaiting receipt by the Executive Branch of foreign govemment assurances as required by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act of 1978.
