OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 16, 1987 TO DISCUSS V0GTLE UNIT 2 LICENSING ISSUES.
I On November 16, 1987, the staff met with the applicant and its represent-
.j atives at the Vogtle site to. discuss. licensing issues associated with
. Unit 2.
Participants are listed in Enclosure 1.
' which was prepared by the applicant summarizes the issues discussed. :The staff encouraged the applicant to accelerate its schedule i
for submittal of. responses on Generic Letter 83-28, the SPDS verification 1
and validation, the test of engineered safeguards P-4sinterlock, and the-incorporation of generic and plant-specific recommendations for TDI diesel-generators. Tile applicant said responses on the safe and alternate shutdown capability, the AMSAC installation, and the FSAR Amendment 34 communication
-and lighting changes would be forthcoming within-approximately one week.
The staff indicated that the battery. room spray protection issue was closed i
for Unit 2 and requested the applicant to add to its issues list for Unit 2 s
SER open item 11, " Licensee qualification for operations," and confirmatory item 10, " Final pipewhip and jet impingement evaluation for high-energy piping."
