- This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. L. Lynch of our staff from
- August 18 to.0ctober 26, 1987, of activities authorized by your NRC General
' License. pursuant to Section 31.5, 10 CFR Part 31 and a review of information received in your' July 17.and October 22, 1987, letters regarding a lost static i
eliminator incident.
The.results of the inspection were discussed on August 18, j
1987, during the exit interview at your Kalamazoo, Michigan facility.
)
The inspection was conducted in response to your reported loss of generally
' licensed static eliminators and was an examination of activities conducted under your license as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your General License pursuant to 10 CFR 31.5.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report
- identifies areas examined during the inspection.
Within these areas, the
-inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, independent measurements and interviews with personnel.
During this inspection certain of your activities appeared to be in violation of NRC requirements..You will be notified by separate correspondence of our
' decision regarding enforcement actions based on the findings of this inspection.'
No written response is required until you are notified of the proposed enfo'rcement. action.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
