SUMMARY

OF UNIT 1 OPERATING EXPERIENCE OCTOBER 1987 q

10/1 The Unit began the month at full reactor power (825 MWe).

10/11 At 2258, operators began reducing power because main i

condenser temperature rise exceeded 12 degrees.

10/12 At 0500, power was reduced further to clean condenser waterboxes.

Cleaning was delayed to repair a waterbox-inlet butterfly valve and an amertap screen.

10/13 At 2211, cleaning and repairs were complete.

The Unit was returned to full power.

l 10/14 At 2110, power was again reduced to clean condenser waterboxes.

10/15 At 0545, waterbox cleaning was complete and the Unit'was returned to full reactor power.

10/31 The Unit ended the month at full reactor power (825 MWe),

SUMMARY

OF UNIT 2 OPERATING EXPERIENCES OCTOBER 1987 10/1 The Unit began the month at full reactor power (825 MWe).

10/18 At 0530, reactor power was reduced.to 812 MWe because the Plant Computer failed.

At 0725, the Plant Computer was restored, and the Unit returned to full reactor power I

(825 MWe).

10/20 At 1730, operators reduced power to 725 MWe for waterbox cleaning and Amertap maintenance.

10/21 At 0345, reactor power was further reduced to 595 MWe to repair 21 SGFP seal water fittings.

Complete isolation could not be obtained; therefore, repairs were postponed and the Unit returned to full reactor power at 0820.

10/28 At 1200, began reducing power to 310 MWe to encapsulate a j

steam leak on #22 S/G (bottom) blowdown line.

1 1

10/29 At 2100, all encapsulation attempts had failed and a maintenance outage was begun.

At 2310, the breaker was opened.

10/31 The Unit was shutdown at the end of the month to replace 1

the S/G blowdown line and inspect snubbers.
