JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PIRfr UNIT 1 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS October, 1987 There was one significant power reduction during the month of October. On 10-12-87, power was reduced to repair pressurizer level transmitter 461 and perform environmental qualification (EQ) related work in containment. The unit was returned to full power operation on 10-16-87.

The following major safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of October:

1.

The program of inspecting electrical splices that were installed utilizing methods not evaluated by design for environmental qualification continued. These splices were re-terminated in l

accordance with approved design on a priority basis.

I 2.

Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was performed on the diesel generators.
