SUBJECT:

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REQUEST - RH0DE ISLAND NUCLEAR SCIENCE CENTER In the issuance of Amendment No. 15 (enclosed) for the Rhode Island Atomic Emergency Commission, we told the licensee that the emergency planning zone should be revised to include the Center for Atmospheric Chemistry Studies when this building is under construction. The licensee has taken exception to this recommendation in the enclosed letter of November 9,.1987.

I discussed this matter with Rosemary Hogan, before the licensee's submission of the enclosed letter and we agreed that the licensee need not change the EPZ There is nothing new in the licensee's letter that was not previously zone.
