1.0 INTRODUCTION
r l This data package summarizes the comparison of measurements to predictions for Hillstone 3, Cycle 1. It is being supplied in response to an NRC request. The overall quality of the data is very similar to that provided for Haddam Neck, Cycles 12, 13, and
- 14. The comparisons confirm the conclusions in NUSCO-152, that NUSCO.is a qualified user of Westinghouse physics methodology as applied to the reload design for Northeast Utilities' three PWRs; Haddam Neck, Millstone Unit 2, and Millstone Unit 3.
2.0 PHYSICS MODEL VERIFICATION The Millstone 3 reactor is presently shut down for refueling. The measurement data accumulated throughout Cycle 1 provide reliable benchmarks by which to verify NUSCO's capability in the use of Westinghouse physics methods. The benchmarks are divided into two categories:
- At power measurements.
- Zero Power Physics Tests.
The at power measurements include data obtained with the incore instrumentation system during the scheduled surveillance program i' and the boron concentrations measured during the cycle depletion. 1 I 1 l l
