Dear Sir / Madam:
On May 28,1998 the NRC made a Request for Additional information (RAl) for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS) regarding PECO Energy's response to Generic Letter (GL) 96-06 " Assurance of Equipment Operability and Containment Integrity During Design-Basis Accident Conditions." The NRC requested that a response to the RAI be made within 45 days from the date of receipt which would be July 17,1998.
PECO Energy is in the process of responding to a similar RAI regarding Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2, which was submitted to PECO Energy just prior to the subject RAl. Therefore, in order to efficiently utilize internal resources, PECO Energy intends to complete the LGS RAI response by its associated request date (July 30,1998), and then respond to this RAI. PECO Energy will submit the response to this RAI by August 31,1998. This plan was discussed with the PBAPS Units 2 and 3 (NRR) Project Manager via telephone on July 1,1998. This letter documents the agreement reached during that discussion.
