ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF REQUEST FOR SAFETY EVALUATION
Dear Ms. Keller:
This letter acknowledges the receipt of your June 9.1998, letter that requested an amendment to NRC Device Registration NR-0112-D-102-B. We have performed a cursory review of your application and determined that enough information has not been provided to allow a technical reviewer to initiate the evaluation process. Typically, gauges used under a general license provision of 10 CFR 31.5(c)(2) are required to be leak tested at intervals not to exceed 6 months. Regulation of 10 CFR 32.51(b) allows for an extension of leak test intervals up to 36 months provided the manufacturer submits sufficient information demonstrating that extending the leak test intervals from 6 or 36 months would not have a signi5 cant effect on the probability or consequences of source leakage.
We are in the process of evaluating your request. However, in order to continue our evaluation of the LB 7400 series gauges, the following still needs to be addressed:
