' SPECIAL REPORI' 86--009 RESULTS OF FI_RST STEAM GENERA'IOR TUBE INSERVICE INSPECTION ThisreportisbeingsubnittedpursuanttoTechnical' Specification (T/S)l.

4.4.5.5 and 6.9.2 to report the results of the first steam generator, tube inservice inspection.

The first steam generator. tube inservice inspection of steam generators.

(S/G) 'B' and 'C' was completed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation m.

October 27, 1986. The scope of the inspection enempassed"419 tubes (7.45%)

in S/G 'B' and 398 tubes (7.08%) in S/G

'C'.

Of the.419 tubesfinspected in S/G

'B', 393 were full length tests and 26 were U-bend tests. Of the 398 tubes inspected in S/G

'C',

384 were full length tests and.14 were U-beM tests. Full length inspections were tested frm'the hot leg sides. U-bend inspections were tested frm the top tube support plate.on the hot leg to the top tube support plate on the cold leg from the hot leg. side. No tube.

plugging was required or performed in either steam generator.

Analysis of the S/G 'B' inspection data revealed that' tube.55-62 had an irdication of 28% degradation on the cold leg side, and tube 47-99 had two '

indications of 21% and 25% degradation at two separate locations on the lot leg side. These tubes require reinspection during subsequent inspections of S/G 'B' per T/S 4.4.5.2.b.l.

Preservice inspection of tube 23-22.showed an indication of 20% degradation, while the. inservice! inspection revealed no detectable degradation (less than 20% degradation)., Reinspection'of this tube will be performed in future inspections'of S/Gl'B' to resolve this anmaly.

Analysis of the S/G 'C' inspection data revealed that tube 36-110.had two=

separate indications of 21% and 23% degradation"on the hot leg side..This tube requires reinspection during subsequent S/G 'C' inspections per T/S' 4.4.5.2.b.l.

No reportable indications were observed on the cold leg side.

Preservice inspection results of S/G

'B' and 'C' shosed five tubes with reportable indications. The following table shows these ' ive tubes with the f

percent degradation frm the preservice inspection (PSI) and the result of '

the inservice inspecticn (ISI).
