\ Gentlemen:
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q), this is to inform you of a change to the Generating Station Emergency Plan for Byron and Braidwood Stations.
pis change became effective October 13, 1987 and was made in response to a N& ice of Violation. Reference (a) contains that response.
The emergency action level for " loss of primary coolant" has been changed to specifically state that the Limiting Condition for operation and the Action Requirement time limit of the Technical Specifications must be q exceeded before classification of an Unusual Event is required. The revision to the emergency action level is enclosed.
This change to the emergency plan does not decrease the effectiveness N of the plan and the plan, as changed, continues to meet the standards of 10 CPR 50.47(b) and 10 CPR 50, Appendix E. Please direct any questions regarding this matter to this office.
