allowable limit for pH during discharge. The pH dropped to 5.6 SU shortly (

af ter start of discharge which began at '1750 hours0.0203 days <br />0.486 hours <br />0.00289 weeks <br />6.65875e-4 months <br /> on October 7,1987 and i

remained at an average value of 5.7 SU for the entire discharge lasting i approximately 3 hours3.472222e-5 days <br />8.333333e-4 hours <br />4.960317e-6 weeks <br />1.1415e-6 months <br /> and 30 minutes. The automatic shutdown feature designed to trip the pump on low pH of 6.5 SU f ailed to trip the . pump. The cause of the  ;

pH exceedance is not known. Subsequent testing of the trip feature indicated

]

that the trip functions properly. A possible cause may have been an improper j setpoint on the low pH trip at the time of discharge. This condition was not noticed until the log sheets were reviewed on C.:tober 29, 1987. The responsible technician is being counseled and retrained to highlight any out-of-spec analytical results and immediately notify his supervisor of such an event.
