Section 4.1.3.2, Steam Generator Gentlemen:

In accordance with 10CFR 50.55a(a) (3), we are requesting permis-l sion to use the attached Code Case N-416 (Reference a) without exception.

Code Case N-416 is listed in the current edition of l

Regulatory Guide 1.147 (Reference b) as being generally accept-able to the NRC without any limitations.

The Code Case will be applied to a replacement section of 2 inch (A-106 GrB sch 80) ISI Class 2 piping (line number EB-06-2008) in the Steam Generator Blowdown System.

This piping cannot be isolated from Steam Generator No. 22 by existing valves and would require securing safety valves (see attached portion of M-36).

The option of performing a

hydrostatic test on the Steam Generator is considered to be impractical due to the existing design limitations on cycling the Steam Generators at hydrostatic test pressure (Reference c).
